When purchasing a diamond, there are 4 very important characteristics
to consider. They are known as the 4Cs and are Cut, Color, Clarity
and Carat weight. It is a complete equal combination of these
attributes that will determine the value of your diamond.
The weight of a diamond is measured in a unit called a ‘carat’.
This measurement is equal to 200 milligrams. The carat is not
an actual measurement of the diamonds size, as cutting a diamond
into different proportions will change its weight.
The largest part and most important note to remember when looking
at the cart weight of a diamond is that this is not the only
factor in determining its value. You must also consider the
style of Cut, Color and Clarity.
